Abstract
Source to Sound: The Housatonic River Project
Description
Choreographer Susan Sgorbatl, visual artist Sue Rees and
writer Julius Rosenwald present a site-specific performance
including eight dancers, costumes by Daniel Michaelson and
music by Jonathan Bepler. Rare Species is an improvisational
research process in four sections. The first section is an abstract
look at the "rare species" on the river; the second section is an
exploration of mythic water stories; the third is seeing movement
on the river through the study of fractals and chaos; and the fourth
is an interactive journey down the path of the river.
