dc.description.abstractTaketeru Kudo was born in Sendai-city, Miyagi in Japan. While studying French Literature at Keio University in Tokyo, Taketeru also immersed himself in the world of performing art and discovered his passion for Butoh dance. He studied under Koichi Tamano, who is a pioneer of Butoh dance, and began dancing solo in 1992 and established his own troupe, Tokyo Gienkan in 1997. Taketeru not only choreographs and dances solo but also collaborates with artists from various genres and holds workshops internationally. His performance called “Full Moon” won a Golden Mask award in Russia in 2013.en_US
