Abstract
"Bennington College’s Master of Fine Arts in Writing faculty are all writers who have distinguished themselves in their teaching as well as on the page. Their work has been given almost every literary honor—the National
Book Critics Circle Award, the National Medal of Arts, the
Rae Award, the PEN Award, the Walt Whitman Award, the O. Henry Prize, the Whiting Writer’s Award, and the LA Times Book Prize. Our distinguished faculty have always been at the core of Bennington’s MFA (W) program—closely mentoring the next generation of literary giants in a 1:5 ratio, guiding students to reach the next level with their craft. Twenty years after the program was founded, scores of alumni now join our faculty bringing acclaimed work to the world, to the shelves of libraries and bookstores everywhere. And when it comes to writing, at Bennington, the work speaks for itself. This is some of it."
