Item Elizabeth Davis and the Library's Exhibit "Matriarchy: The Golden Age" (1974-11-12) Kirkpatrick, Joanna"When I signed the galley about Davis's fish story, I suggested to my co-writers that we make it clear that we though the library display belonged elsewhere on campus . One of the writers thought, however, that it was not up to us to suggest where to put it. So I should just like to say now that, contrary to the petulant reply of the Davis fans about censorship, I think we all thought the display was appropriate for more political locations hereabouts, such as the Women's Bulletin Board, or Commons, or as graffitti in the toilets. I think it was clear to everybody including the Davis fans that we were not censoring Davis nor were we out to burn anything."Item Elizabeth Davis and the Library's Exhibit "Matriarchy: The Golden Age" (1974-11-11) Tristman, Richard; Paglia, Camille; Salamon, Linda; Kirkpatrick, Joanna"The Crossett Library's current lobby-exhibit, "Matriarchy: The Golden Age," is a collection of archaeological and anthropological falsifications which do not deserve the recommendation of display in an academic library - The material for the exhibit--photographs of ancient artifacts and captions tLat purport to explain them--appears to be drawn from the confabulations of Elizabeth Davis's muddled, ignorant, perhaps out-and-out fraudulent book, The First Sex, whose "learning" and methods have been roundly discredited by every scholar who has condescended to review it."Item Life Is Short, the Art Long: Reflections on Fieldwork and Interpretation(Indiana University Press, 2003) Kirkpatrick, JoannaItem Memorial Service for Dr. Martin Luther King(1968-04-05) Carini, Louis; Guy, Georges; Hanks, Lucien; Brown, Donald; Holt, George; Kirkpatrick, Joanna; Hansenclever, Irene; Lyon, Irving; Ricks, Arnold; Surette, Gerald; Rowe, Leonard; Supowit, Lee; Feeley, Helen; Van der Linde, Reinhound; Tristman, Richard; Shapiro; Westberg; Wilson; Witkin, Issac; Wittman, Josef; Wittman, Martha; Tillim, Sidney; Tate; Stickney, Rebecca; Hyman, Laurence; Hyman, Stanley Edgar; Delbanco, Nicholas; Pearson, Harry; Picco, Ulises Raul; Rosenblith, Eric; Sainer, Arthur; Schlabach, Anne; Smith, Barbara; Stroud, Peter; DeGray, Julian; DeGray, Margaret; Elman, Richard; Eskin, Stanley; Finckel, George; Finckel, Marianne; Flory; Golffing, Francis; Gray, Paul; Adams, Pat; Baker, Frank; Belitt, Ben; Calabro, Louis; Nowak, Lionel; Nowak, Laura; Wohnus, John; Woodworth, Robert; Teare, Robert; Montesinos, Nora"There will be a memorial service for Dr. Martin Luther King at the North Bennington Congregationalist Church today at 2:00 p.m. The college community will assemble on Commons lawn at 1:15. We understand and respect the educational principles upon which the three-course suggestions are based - a compensation in "depth more valuable than what might be lost in "breadth" - but are not convinced that such a compensation would intact result from the change."Item Rickshaw Revelations(Outlook, 2004-08-04) Kirkpatrick, JoannaRicksha art?
