Abstract
"When I signed the galley about Davis's fish story, I
suggested to my co-writers that we make it clear that we
though the library display belonged elsewhere on campus .
One of the writers thought, however, that it was not up
to us to suggest where to put it. So I should just like
to say now that, contrary to the petulant reply of the
Davis fans about censorship, I think we all thought the
display was appropriate for more political locations hereabouts,
such as the Women's Bulletin Board, or Commons, or
as graffitti in the toilets. I think it was clear to
everybody including the Davis fans that we were not censoring
Davis nor were we out to burn anything."
