"In these troubled times, when people are divided into various camps , it is important
to celebrate to ideals which bring people together. Thanksgiving is a special
day suitable for this celebration. The undersigned want it to be a matter of public knowledge that they will
s pend this day as they see fit, commemorating an event that has stood for centuries
as a symbol of thanksgiving, peace and harmony."
