Fall Term 1966 Results of the Bennington referendum on Viet Nam-94% of the students who voted agreed that: "The U.S. should take steps immediately toward disengagement from the war... Of these, 44 students and 3 faculty said: "The U.S. should stop bombing and troop and build up... 111 students and 7 faculty said: "The U.S. should defer to the United Nations for the establishment of Vietnam policy" 126 students and 19 faculty said: "The U.S. should...reapply the principles of the Geneva agreements of 1954 to the present situation." 125 students and 4 faculty said: "The U.S. should call for direct negotiations with the Ky regime and the National Liberation Front." 77 students and 5 faculty said: "The U.S. should unilaterally withdraw from Viet Nam."
