U. Awards and Fellowships

Awards have never been a focus for me, as it always seems illogical why some people receive awards, others are not given recognition for their work until after they are gone, and others receive honors when it is hard to understand why compared to others in their field. We know that some of the most important innovators and contributors to culture and social justice are never recognized.
That being said, I was encouraged to share what awards and fellowships have come to me over the years. The ones that I am most connected to are: the silver medal that I received from the Philadelphia Dance Academy when I was young; the 1st Vermont Community Foundation David Rahr award; the Barbara and Lewis Jones Chair for Social Activism from Bennington College, and the New England Board of Education Merit Award for Quantum Leap.
